I’m personally pro-life, but I don’t want to force my views on others. Why should I vote for Amendment 3?

Amendment 3 isn’t about forcing beliefs—it’s about protecting innocent human life. Just as laws protect children after birth, this amendment ensures children before birth are given the same protection. It reflects compassion, not coercion.

Doesn’t Amendment 3 ban all abortions, even in difficult cases?

No. Amendment 3 makes clear exceptions in tragic circumstances such as rape, incest (within the first 12 weeks), and for the life of the mother. It balances protecting life with compassion in heartbreaking situations.

What about women facing serious medical complications—will doctors still be able to help them?

Yes. Nothing in Amendment 3 prevents doctors from acting to save a mother’s life. Physicians will continue to provide the care women need. What this amendment does is stop elective abortion being used as birth control.

Isn’t it extreme to make abortion illegal after 12 weeks in most cases?

Not at all. By 12 weeks, a baby has a heartbeat, fingers and toes, and can respond to touch. Most Missourians agree it’s reasonable to protect life at this stage. Amendment 3 reflects both science and compassion.

I’m worried Amendment 3 will hurt women. Isn’t access to abortion about women’s health?

Real women’s health is about safe pregnancies, prenatal care, and support—not ending the life of a child. Amendment 3 protects women by requiring abortion facilities to meet health and safety standards, while promoting alternatives and support for mothers.

Will women who have abortions be punished under Amendment 3?

No. Amendment 3 targets the abortion industry, not women. Women are often pressured or misled into abortion. They deserve compassion and healing—not punishment.

How does this amendment affect families dealing with tragic diagnoses like disabilities?

Every child deserves a chance at life, regardless of challenges. Amendment 3 protects children with disabilities from being singled out for abortion and encourages support for families instead of pressure to end a pregnancy.

Why not leave this up to individual choice?

Every choice has limits when another life is at stake. We don’t allow someone to harm a newborn, and Amendment 3 recognizes that unborn children deserve the same protection. True freedom never comes at the expense of another’s life.

Missouri already has pro-life laws. Why is Amendment 3 necessary?

Our current protections are under attack in the courts. Amendment 3 secures them in the Missouri Constitution, so judges or politicians can’t simply undo them. It’s the strongest safeguard we can give the unborn in Missouri.

A lifelong progressive who blew the whistle on what was happening behind closed doors — Jamie Reed's story is now central to the case for Amendment 3.

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. — Her Health, Her Future, the campaign supporting Missouri's Amendment 3, today released a new ad, MANIPULATED, featuring the story of Jamie Reed, the former Washington University Transgender Center case manager whose 2023 whistleblower disclosures triggered a state investigation, a congressional inquiry, and a national reckoning over how clandestine sex-change procedures were being administered to Missouri children.

For more than four years, Reed worked inside the Washington University clinic in St. Louis, where she says internal concerns about how minors were being treated were routinely dismissed or minimized. It was only after Reed left her position and came forward — first in a sworn affidavit to the Missouri Attorney General's office, then in a widely read personal essay — that the full picture of gender-transition interventions the clinic was secretly facilitating to Missouri children became public.

What makes Reed's account hard to dismiss is who she is: a self-described progressive, queer woman, and left of most Democrats, who says she believed in the clinic's mission before she couldn't stay silent regarding the horrors she witnessed.

“I’m a lifelong democrat and proud progressive, and when I worked in a St. Louis gender transition clinic, I saw firsthand how children are manipulated into taking puberty blockers and undergoing irreversible sex change surgeries,” said Jamie Reed. “These are permanent changes to their bodies and children are just too young to comprehend the lifelong consequences. Amendment 3 will ban all gender transition interventions on minors and permanently protect our children.”

Missouri lawmakers ultimately passed legislation restricting sex change procedures and drugs for minors, nearly all of which are set to expire next year. Amendment 3 will permanently safeguard these protections for children in the Missouri Constitution.

“Jamie Reed isn't someone who came to this issue from the outside. She spent years inside that clinic believing in what it was doing. When even she couldn't stay silent about what was happening to Missouri kids behind closed doors, people listened — and they're still listening today." said Amanda Sanders, Communications Director for Her Health, Her Future.

Amendment 3 will appear on the November 3, 2026 statewide ballot. It would permanently ban all sex-change interventions and drugs for minors in Missouri — the same practices Reed says she witnessed taking place with minimal oversight and, in some cases, without full parental knowledge.

The new video is part of Her Health, Her Future's continued effort to inform Missouri voters on Amendment 3 ahead of the November election.
