Across America, States Are Choosing to Protect Children

The national conversation about gender-related procedures for minors continues to move in one direction.

Across the country, more states are adopting laws that protect children from puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones, and gender transition procedures. At the same time, courts continue to consider legal challenges, making it clear that this issue will remain at the center of public policy for years to come.

For Missouri families, one thing is becoming increasingly clear.

Protecting children is no longer the exception. It is becoming the standard.

More States Are Recognizing the Need for Stronger Protections

Legislatures across the country are reaching the same conclusion: children deserve greater protection from permanent medical procedures that can alter the course of their lives. While each state has taken its own approach, the overall direction is unmistakable. More lawmakers are recognizing that children should not be placed on a path toward irreversible medical changes before they are old enough to fully understand the lifelong consequences.

As more states adopt these protections, it becomes increasingly clear that putting children first is not an isolated position. It is a growing movement rooted in the belief that childhood should be a time for growth, guidance, and careful decision-making rather than permanent medical procedures.

Families Should Not Have to Wonder Whether Their Children Are Protected

Although many states have acted, legal challenges continue to move through the courts, leaving families in some parts of the country uncertain about what protections will remain in place. Parents should never have to wonder whether the safeguards protecting their children today will disappear tomorrow because of a court ruling or a change in political leadership.

Missouri families deserve the confidence that comes from knowing their laws place the well-being of children ahead of ideology and protect them from procedures that cannot be undone.

Missouri Has the Opportunity to Secure These Protections for Future Generations

Missouri has already taken meaningful steps to protect children, but there is still an opportunity to provide lasting certainty.

Amendment 3 establishes permanent protections by prohibiting puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones, and gender transition procedures for minors. Rather than leaving these important safeguards vulnerable to changing political priorities or years of courtroom battles, Missouri voters can ensure that these protections remain firmly in place for future generations.

Protecting Children Is Becoming the New Standard

The national landscape is changing because more leaders, more parents, and more medical professionals are recognizing that children deserve greater protection from permanent medical procedures.

Missouri has the opportunity not simply to follow that movement, but to help lead it by affirming that children deserve time to mature, parents deserve to guide their families, and irreversible medical decisions belong in adulthood rather than childhood.

Her Health Her Future is committed to protecting children, supporting parents, and strengthening families across our state.

Now is the time to pass Amendment 3 and ensure that Missouri remains a place where children are protected, parents are respected, and families come first.
